Back to School Series
We are in week four of a five-week series in worship called Back to School: 5 Key Lessons from Our Master Teacher. Last week we focused on giving mindfully. This morning we are centered on the energy of service. We will conclude this series next week with a focus on being a witness of our Teacher’s example!

District Superintendent Debbie Earthrowl will bring us the Good News of Jesus Christ on Oct. 14th at both services! Following the 10:30 service, we will have a light lunch along with our annual Church Conference!
Hard Questions Series
What a response! You’ve submitted some challenging questions about faith/religion/scripture that you would like to hear more about in a sermon! From your submitted questions, we will offer a “Hard Questions” series starting October 21st!

Starting October 13th at 4:30, QUMC will be starting a new faith community called Elevate! Fresh music and a captivating time to celebrate God’s love with others! This morning we’re sending around a clipboard if you would be interested in volunteering/participating regularly in this service to get it up and running!

District Youth Overnighter
November 3rd & 4th QUMC is hosting the District Youth of the UMC for its first overnighter of the year. Great plans are in store like workshops, worship, icebreaker games, district youth planning, and more. All youth grades 7-12 are invited! Tell your kids and grandkids!

We’re getting closer to rolling out the updated church directory. For many of us a secure, private, digital access to the church pictorial directory will be a phenomenal upgrade to the printed version. But for those of you still desiring a print version, the church directory will be available on demand.

…continues strategic planning by discussing Lasting Impact by Canadian Pastor Carey Nieuwhof. The team is planning our turning outward more deeply to our surrounding community. Next meeting is Oct. 23rd.
…recently created a final draft of the church security policy for consideration at Church Council. The Trustees will provide info to us regarding action steps. Next meeting is Oct. 2nd.
… is planning/budgeting for 2019. In a few weeks, the Finance team will share how the end of 2018 is shaping up and how we will plan for phenomenal ministry in 2019! Next meeting is Oct. 9th.

Drama Ministry’s Christmas Play
Our first rehearsal is tonight @ 7 in Clark Hall! Our Drama Ministry Team is offering a fantastic play for the whole neighborhood to enjoy during the holidays! It’s called Christmas ReEngineered and it has a number of people involved! Directed by Robin Miller with a cast and crew made up of Mark Griffin, Penny Gates, Denise Boland, Lori Shaver, Jared Halliday, Avary Halliday, Greg Corbett, Terry Goodemote, & Steve Miller. Christmas ReEngineered will be performed twice: Sat, Dec 8th at 8 PM & Sun, Dec 9th at 1 PM in Clark Hall.
