Bishop Mark Webb of the Upper New York Annual Conference intends to appoint Rev. Brooke Newell as pastor of Queensbury United Methodist Church, effective July 1, 2019. We are thrilled that Brooke will have the opportunity to share her spiritual gifts in leading this community of faith. Brooke, her husband Rev. Caspar Green, and their 15-year-old son, Silas, come to us from Potsdam UMC where they have faithfully served for the past four years. Prior to 2015, Brooke served several other churches across the Upper New York Annual Conference, including Ballston Spa, Fort Ann and West Fort Ann UMC from 2003-2006. Rev. Newell is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia and Yale Divinity School in Connecticut. She was ordained an Elder in the United Methodist Church in 1997.
Nancy Dibelius has completed training as a Spiritual Director and received certification in Spiritual Formation from the United Methodist General Board of Higher Education. Nancy received her master’s degree, summa cum laude, in Spiritual Formation and Evangelism from Garrett-Evangelical theological Seminary and was inducted into Theta Alpha Kappa , the national honor society for religious studies/theology. In June, 2017, she was commissioned as a provisional deacon in the Upper NY Conference and is Associate Director of Spiritual Life for Vital Congregations.
Carol Ann is the organist and Director of Music Ministries of the United Methodist Church of Queensbury. We love the musical excellence that Carol Ann brings to our worship services at UMCQ. Carol Ann is also, as the Skidmore college website says, “collaborative pianist in the Departments of Dance and Music at Skidmore College. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the Crane School of Music. Upon graduation, Carol Ann discovered her love of playing for ballet at Union College, where she had the good fortune to play Master Classes for Founding Artistic Director of Miami City Ballet, Edward Villella, and former NYCB Principal Dancer, Kyra Nichols. She served as music instructor at St.Mary’s/ St.Alphonsus Regional Catholic School in Glens Falls, where she founded a comprehensive choral and music instruction program for elementary through middle students. From 2009-2014 Carol Ann served as Music Director and Conductor of the Glens Falls Symphony Children’s Chorus, and has been accompanist for Adirondack Voices, a community chorus, since 1999. She maintains an active accompanying schedule in the music department, rehearsing, coaching and performing with both instrumentalists and vocal students, and continues working with standout regional high school musicians.
Rhonda has a wide-ranging background in children’s education and early educational ministries. She is an enthusiastic and compassionate education professional with over 10 years experience specializing in elementary, special education, and literacy. Skilled in working with a diverse population of students, parents and staff by creating a welcoming environment. Successfully developed programming, curriculum, and long term goal setting for students and families. Presents information using multi-sensory and developmentally appropriate methods to engage students of all ages, with additional capabilities in:
- Curriculum design
- Interactive learning
- Supervision of staff
- Parent relations
- Facilitation of meetings and workshops
- Developmentally appropriate assessment and programming
- Organizing multiple program and calendars

Rhonda earned her Master of Education in Literacy Birth-6 from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. Here Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Education from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
Rhonda also holds Permanent Certification in General Education Pre- K -6 as well as Permanent Certification in Special Education.
Campus Care Coordinator / Administrative Director of Preschool & School Age Care Programs” last=”true”]Debbie is celebrating her 18th year as the Director of our School Age Care programs. Debbie is a Registered Nurse, having studied at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Debbie does much more for UMCQ than just the admistrative direction of our Child Care programs and we are thankful for her organizational skills, her dedication to the maintenance of the church, and the many ways she goes above and beyond for the community.
Meg Hagerty is the church administrator. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in communications from The College of St. Rose. She was a features writer for The Post-Star and before that, a volunteer for several organizations. Her parents were charter members of QUMC.
